Training
Professional Attachment Training on Taxonomy of Gelechiids in Department of Entomology, GKVK, UAS, Bengaluru from 12th May - 11th August 2016
Foundation Training for Agricultural Research Service at National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 1st January - 31st March 2016
Brief Achievements
Documented phosphine resistance in 15 populations of red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) and established that all the populations showed moderate to high resistance to phosphine.
Characterized the genetic basis of phosphine resistance in T. castaneum.
Carried out molecular screening of populations of T. castaneum and calculated the resistant allele frequencies.
Worked in the project entitled "Ensuring Food Security: harnessing Science to protect our grain harvest from insect threats" which was a collaborative research project between ICAR-India and University of Queensland, Australia and funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) as part of the PhD research work.
Studied the arthropod diversity in floricultural ecosystems viz., rose, jasmine and cock's comb and determined their abundance, species richness, species dominance and species evenness indices and beta diversity richness of the habitat.
